10:30 AM - Adult Sunday school: We are looking at the theme of the covenants in the Bible. What are these and what is the nature and purpose of biblical covenants?
Children's Sunday School will also be held this Sunday at the same time.
11:30 AM - Worship Service: This Sunday, Lord willing, we will finish preaching our way through the Sermon on the Mount. We will be looking at Matthew 7:24-29.
This week our Lord presents two builders to us; both of them are hearers of the Word, but only one of them is a doer of the Word of Christ.
Which are you? Do you hear and not do or do you hear and do what He says? Test yourself! Do you take the Word of God to heart? Do you trust in the promises of God? Does the Word of God determine the direction of your life or are you indifferent to it?
The Word of God is the bedrock of a Christian's faith and hope. A life lived in obedience to it will persevere through every trial, temptation, tribulation, danger, toil, snare and even death.
The ungodly and foolish builder hears the Word of God and does it not. His faith and hope are established upon his religiosity, churchmanship, family, health, wealth, intellect and self-righteousness. Sadly, this foundation will not be able to stand up under the daily onslaught from the world, flesh and the devil. he will become a casualty of war.
FURTHER THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:
How sweet and refreshing is the inspired, immutable, infallible, inerrant Word of God in this world that is being "tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes."
Apart from the true church, the body of Christ, you cannot be right with God. How can you love the Head and neglect His body?
Come and join us this Sunday!
Hope to see you then,
Pastor Kevin James
We Believe in the inspired, inerrant, immutable Word of God; we Rest in its promises, we Bring our lives under its authoritative rule, and we Confess it to a confused and dying world.
